Pastor Francis Madojemu  started our Network Service with the topic “Tough Love – Awakening Hunger For God” though her theme for the month is “Tough Love”. The love in the bible has different aspect to it and it is not really simple like agape love, Eros,  etc. There are situations where you experience the different aspect of love like showing tough love to your child who uses your money to buy drugs, instead of going for rehabilitation but from last month theme – Tender Love, he realized God wanted to reveal himself to us through the different aspect of Love.

Pastor Francis Madojemu quoted a young man he really like and he says “as a leader we are  never responsible for filling anybody’s cup, our responsibility is to empty ours and for too long when people don’t respond to what I teach or do in certain directions, I used to say am I been effective or is this thing working or not? But I realized that’s not my job, my job is to give you the best I can, or pour out as much as I can and what you do with it depends between you and God. That’s so fundamental, and that is what Love is – that is do your best  and then see what happens.

Exodus 19:4 King James Version (KJV) 4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.

And as a christian growing up, I remember Derek Prince always used to emphasized this that do you notice God didn’t bring us to prosperity, promise land, or healing, or deliverance etc but He said I brought you to myself. God focus has always be to bring us to Him. But we have gotten so caught up with trying to be prosperous, successful, receiving our promises etc that we have forgotten why He brought us together.

I did all these drama – parting the Red Sea, the Plaques etc, I did it for one purpose to bring you to Myself, when the presence of God comes down we don’t know what to do. Tough Love is kicking you out of your comfort zone and pushing you to somewhere you normally don’t want to go. Stop all these nonsense, you can fly and tough love kicks you out.

Deuteronomy 32:11-12King James Version (KJV) 11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: 12 So the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

And I remembered reading and studying this, someone said it’s like Moses had studied eagles, and suddenly recognized that this is what God has done to us. Eagles from study is said to kick its nest making it uncomfortable for its off springs and then flap its wings in front of them to teach them that you need to be kicked out and picked them up until they connect and get the idea that it time to fly. As it’s showing them the capacity to live so also God.

God is telling us that we are better than this, you can fly. We have become so complacent and God has come in His might to wake us up. One of the biggest challenges we faced in the ministry today in this generation, is that to be a good Leader you must be a good Follower. And this is a big problem. All these our preachers have served in one way or the other and we just want to be big ogas and not serve anyone.

The Israelites who witnessed the lightning, the thundering, etc said to Moses you speak to God alone because if we do we will die and this is the biggest problem today. We were brought by God to Him and I should be able to hear from Him.

Pastor Francis played a video to us by Francis Chan just two minutes long. Francis Chan says he wish the pastors know God, a lot of us talk about God as an outsider which shouldn’t be. We speak about God as an outsider but should spoken or speak about as someone who has an intimate relationship with God. You and I should develop a principle of walking with God for an hour a day at least and then improve/develop that walking with God.

We should be conscious of His presence of God on us until the end of our days on earth. His presence on us should determine how I walk. We should not be hearing or getting a little drop out of a devotional or from a Pastor but should be a place I dwell in. Some of us in His presence are overwhelmed and fall, some of us are just crying out, but most people do not know what to do with His presence. Our approach to Christianity should be totally affected by how much of God I know. We must embodied Christ in all our living because it is all about His presence.

What we fail to understand is that darkness has always been here what makes me not to see darkness is the presence of Light.  Anywhere we go where there is darkness we bring light. At creation, darkness was there that was why God said let there be light. It is my presence that should automatically move darkness away because I carry light. God is saying before I can kick you out, you must first know me. Everything about you and I have been written down, the script writer has written the end of the script and at the end of the script you make it. But if you don’t know what has been written concerning you then you won’t know.

Do you know the result God has written concerning you? If you know then you won’t panic no matter the situation at end. Don’t follow any other person’s script but follow yours by knowing what God has written about you. How do you know your script?- go to your author and finisher of your faith.

This Christian work has been misrepresented to us a long time, you are awaiting for someone to lay hands on you and all your problems be solved, but the day all your problems are solved then, you are in a coffin but God is saying through this Word in

Gen 32: 22 – 24 KJV 22And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two women servants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. 23And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had. 24And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.

25And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

Some of us are afraid to be left alone. There is a difference between been lonely and being alone. What Jacob realized is that despite all the wealth, servants, cattle etc he still does not have God’s a blessing. Is there something still missing in your life? Tell it to God face to face without an in-between.

We are afraid to sit with God but that should not be. We should walk with God, have a fellowship with Him because He saved us and brought us to Himself. What is that one thing that if God do it for you, it will change your life?. You and I are to wrestle with God our maker until He blesses us. And it is a continuous prayer to be offered to God until you and I see the manifestation.
