Welcome to 2016. I am so grateful to God for His great mercies that have brought us and our nation into a new season and another opportunity to fully realize His plans for us as individuals, families, as a church and as a nation.
In spite of the challenges we face both locally and globally, we must recognize and know that God is a God of ‘times and seasons”. He really doesn’t deal with our human calendars or schedules. Just His and His alone. It is therefore crucial and critical that if there was ever a time to understand God’s purposes, it is now! We would be using as a guide, while being led by the Holy Spirit, Kenneth E Hagin’s book – Plans, Purposes and Pursuits.

In a review, Margaret Lukasik wrote: “This book is appropriate for all Christians. Kenneth Hagin was a Christian man who I so admired — and who I so greatly miss since His passing. He was always a stickler for the truth about God’s word and this particular book gives a clear picture of the difference between God’s will and the work of our flesh. He begins with the question straight from the cover of the book, “What are you going to say when you stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and He asks you, did you follow my plans for your life or your own?”

This profound question must be asked and answered now at this time when some of the greatest changes in the world are taking place, from same-sex marriages and the US Supreme Court’s decision, to the rise of islamic terrorism, from ISIS to our local Boko Haram insurgence and the destruction and displacement of millions of refugees from Syria. More important is the unprecedented deaths taking place all over the world, many if not most, without salvation!

So why Plans Pursposes and Pursuits?

In the 1987 visitation with the Lord, Kenneth Hagin said “Jesus told me some things that He is wanting to do in this day in the Church—His plans—and why He has not been able to do them. If the Body of Christ will cooperate with God, and get in line with His plan and His purposes, and pursue that plan, then God will be able to accomplish what He wants to in this day!

There is so much more to the commitment we made at salvation that most Christians just aren’t living. God has a plan and a purpose for every believer, but unless they make the choice to seek God’s will, they will miss the best and most fulfilling life they can realize. It’s one thing to do the work of God, but are you living His will or your own? This book will take you step-by-step into God’s very best for your life!

Dr Myles Munroe on Purpose

“Purpose is the master of motivation and the mother of commitment. When nations, societies, communities, friendships, marriages, clubs, churches, countries or tribes lose their sense of purpose and significance, then confusion, frustration, discouragement, disillusionment and corporate suicide–whether gradual or instant–reign.

This is evident in our world. In every nation there is a generation that seems to have lost their sense of purpose. They are out of touch with the values, morals and convictions that build strong families, secure communities, healthy societies and prosperous nations. Thus, the moral fabric of most societies is being stretched and tested to its outer limits.

You must realize that your fulfillment in life is dependent on your becoming and doing what you were born to be and do. For without purpose, life has no heart. Dr. Myles Munroe’s own book on the subject of purpose has fashioned a compass that can focus you on the path toward fulfillment while providing the answer to the question, “Why am I here?”

A Journey with Purpose

In this new year, even as we use the books already mentioned above, we will be studying Rick Warren’s book: “What On Earth, Am I Here For?” previously titled “Purpose Driven Life” in an incredible journey that will enable you to discover the answer to life’s most important question: What on earth am I here for? By the end of this journey you will know God’s purpose for your life and will understand the big picture – how all the pieces of your life fit together. Having this perspective will reduce your stress, simplify your decisions, increase your satisfaction, and, most importantly, prepare you for eternity.

Do You Know God’s Will For Your Life?

In order to attain the greatest fulfillment in life as Christians we need to live the “special call” that God has for each of His children. It’s easy to fall into our own determination of what God’s will is because it is natural for us to let our will override God’s. It takes a strong commitment for God’s will to transpire in our lives based upon His plans instead of our own. That’s why every Christian should learn how to seek after God’s will. The books, themes and program set for this new year will take you step-by-step into God’s very best for your life!
