“The Kingdom of God has almost nothing to do with religion. Instead, it has everything to do with the King Himself—with replicating His character and reproducing His will on Earth. Maturing in their citizenship, Kingdom citizens grow to reflect their King’s culture, values, morals, nature, and lifestyle.– Dr Myles Munroe
To end our November 2022 services & theme after a refocused and restored purpose we would like to tackle one of the greatest barriers to our success as individuals, families, church and the nation, VALUES!
Professor Lawrence Lessig warns that “A constitutional democracy succeeds only if a constitution reflects democratic values already alive at the citizen right?” Which is why our most important job is to instil those values in their leaders through discussion and debate.
Chiristianity Today International/Leadership Journal says “The real challenge is that aging congregations tend to value their buildings more than they value people or the gospel.
There is a reason churches are dying. It is not about style; it’s about values. If you can change what people care about, you can turn things around or, more importantly, birth something new.”
Glen Schultz puts it this way: “At the foundation of a person’s life, we find his beliefs. These beliefs shape his values, and his values drive his actions.”
It’s not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are. -Roy Disney. Right Belief + Good Values = Great Choices + Right Actions – your life is a sum of all your choices
John Maxwell in his The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork observes poignantly –
“We’ve all seen teams that have a common goal yet lack common values. Everyone on the team has different ideas about what’s important. The result is chaos. Eventually the team breaks down if everyone tries to do things his own way. That’s why team members need to be on the same page.
Just as personal values influence and guide an individual’s behavior, organizational values influence and guide the team’s behavior. If you want to add value to your team and help it reach its potential, then you need to share in its values.
First, make sure that you know what they are. Then, examine your values and goals in comparison to them.If you can wholeheartedly buy into the team’s values, commit yourself to aligning yourself with them.
If you can’t, then your misalignment will be a constant source of frustration to you and your teammates. And you might want to think about finding a different team.
It’s time for us to talk about Values and bring them into alignment for the sake of our desired future as individuals, as families, Our Church, The Church and The Nation
